shipped the body of the late Alex

tration had adopted Oregon prune
growers' prices as recommended by
the committee which met at Portland
on July 2 and I!. Following is the
message received here today: "flas-
ed on unanimous recommendations
of Oregon prune growers for maxi
ma in reasonable prices for 1918
crop the food administration accepts
such reconunenoations and will con
sider prices in excess of those named
unreasonable under tho food control
act."

JoBeph E. Staninger, who lias been
in ill health for the past year, and
whoso condition bus been serious for
tho last two months, passed away at
the homo of his daughter, Mrs. Bessie
IC. Smith at 1111 Mill street, this aft
ernoon. Tho deceased was born In Mercer
county, Pa., December 9, 1842, being
75 years, 7 months and two days old
at the time of his death. At the age
or 12 years he moved', with his par
ents, to Michigan, where he resided
until 1904, when he cahie to this city
whore he has lived since.
lie was married to Miss Alice
Malnes, In Michigan, and to this
union were born four children, two
of whom survive him. His wife died
In this city in 1907.
There reman to mourn his loss
the daughter mentioned above, a son,
Joseph A. Staninger, of Coquille, ten
grandchildren, several brothers and
sisters residing in the east, and one
brother In Arizona, besides numer
ous other relatives.
A Bon, Wm. Staninger, died In Ne
vada, in 1913, s burled here, and a
daughter, Susan Staninger, died in
Michigan at the age of l'.i.
Mr. Staninger was an old noldior,

Company. This is a case in which
the plaintiff sued for damages due
to misrepresentations made in land
