prising the county court of Coos
county, who made a special trip (o
this city to confer with county of
ficials here regarding the gravel load
ing device, which is capable of op
erating in high or low water, now i
use in this vicinity, left this morn
ing on the, return trip.
According to commissioner Phil
lips, much grave! wiil be Deeded in
road work contemplated near Bandon
this winter and a machine for the
bundling of the rock lo be used, such
as the one the county employes here
would greatly contribute toward the
solution of the difficulties to he en
countered. Next spring, according to
members of the court the rock
crusher would he needed farther up
the CoquiHe river near Myrtle P,mii,
where roads are to undergo improve
ments at that time.
While here the commission in
spected the Koseburg Sand & Gravel
Company's plant, operated hy O. T,
Larson and situated near Shady
Point, and after being shown over
the property, they were much pleas
ed with the manner in which the
gravel was handled th-'ie and in all
probability a plant similar to this
will he constructed in Curry county
and the material secured wiil be used
to macadamize the road between the
county line ;ud Hand"?).

ber of miles the state will pave.
