school. The members of the class
will rocelve their diplomas on the

the add reus. At that time a class of
six young men and women will leave
the ranks of the high school, two
to enter college, one to take up the
luminous life and two to train and
work as teachers.
The high school has not been es
tablished and maintained without
a struggle on the part of the iiat-
ions, but the things that work for
the upbuilding of mankind have .al
ways required a struggle, ho with
pride the patrons and' teachers of
the Wilbur school look forward to
this commencement.
On Sunday morning, May 27, the
baccalaureate sermon will be deliv
ered by tho ilev. A. J. Ware, of
Oregon City. A special musical
program Is being ararnged and the
Borvlces will doubtless be very im
pressive.

can oppose the present good roads

him to have good roads to take his

of Oregon is endeavoring to bring
about a comprehensive system of road
building, which It should have done
years ago, but, strange to relate, ob
jection Is raised by farmors, who will
be tho most benefited by a system of

With the Idea of having a little

of prunes for dessert, the hospital
corps located in this city today for

The hospital corps members have
been anxious for- some time to en
larged their mesa fund and when
the announcement came several days
ago that a call will be issued for
mobilization on July 25, tho boys
immediately set about to devise ways
and means whereby this could be
done. It Is thought that the pcorle
of this city, who have a great Inter
est In the welfare of the boys wlh
patronize this effort a.id ;0, large
crowd is anticipated at the perform
ance. All of the acts presented by the
corps will be given by the members,

there.

sick man, who came here but a few

Oregon senator suffered a nervous
breakdown in Washington City a few

a week ago." His present condition
Is caused by a blood clot on the brain
which Is the direct result of nervous
deterioration.
