Have You Got That Fishin' Feelin'?
(By an Unknown Author.)
I sat at my desk as 1 added a column,
Hut the numbers were never so hard to tame,
My ears caught the voice of tho woods,'Bwect though solemn,
And I saw through tho mist a' green sliady lane,
I heard tho splash of tho swift-flowing currant,
As It sang Its wild song on its own reckless way,
Ami the dip of (lie willows that bend to caress it
O'er tile rock that was spoiling for fisherman's play.
I know of a rod that lies cased and neglected,
Of a reel that both pollBli and oil would improve,
Of a basket all dusty, that splits in tho middle,
Of a lino that needs wetting to make it run smooth.
There nro hooks by the plenty in a window 1 know of
Where farmers are wont to assemble at night,
And (lie obi wnue-halrcd store-man is rich In the lore of
Tho flail and tho hook that the right i'lsli will blto.
Oh! ilio sound of Unit voloo as I Bit hero wllh pen raised.
Oh! tho vision, how bright, that I sec through tho mist,
And I mentally 'phono to tho woods that are railing,
To laid initio to the names on their visitor's list.
Don't stop mo I'm off! for my cafe needs a doctor,
And old Father Nature will help wllh ills wile,
And tho aid of my rod and my reel and my basket
To euro all my ills and lengthen my life.
