BERLIN, Dec. 21. Referring to
reports of the founding of an asso
'Ciatlon for the manufacture and dis
tribution of medals commemorating
the sinking of the steamship Lusl
tanla, the Overseas News Agency
sayB:
"It Is officially declared that in
Germany this medal Is practically un
known and that hardly 100 persons
ever saw it. It was coined in a pri
vate house in Munich. The manu
facturers reported that up to Decem
ber 1, 1918, a total of 180 of these
medals had been sold to the trade
and that of this number 75 went to
foreign countries."
Germany's peace terms include the return of her colonics, which are
practically all held by her enemies. They comprise 11. 031.320 square miles
I with a population ot 14,000,000. One of the smallest though most important
its Kisu-Chau in China, which is now in the hands of the Japs.

John (A. Seeber, a. well known
momber of the Soldiers Home, and
a sergeant in company C, Second
Iowa cavalry during tho Civil war,
died at the Home tlilB morning at

Loulsania, and aged 79 years. Ho
was admitted to the Homo frqm
Multnomah county on July 28, 1911,
and has lived here ever since, hav
ing no family or relatives as fur ns
known. Tho funeral services will

grounds. Tho records of Comrade
Seeber show that ho was a good and!
faithful soldier during the years of
his service, and was a man well lik

a road supervisor by ballot. We un
derstand the meeting will be held in
the school house -in the lower district.
There Is to be an old fashioned
play party at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. J. O. Gunter next Saturday.
Everybody la invited. A pleasant
time is anticipated.
Mrs. Doshio Wisner, who has been
visiting with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Clevenger. ot Smith Riv
er, expects to leave Monday with
her two small children to rejoin her
husband who is at work near Marsh
field, but received a telegram from
him that he was coming to spend
the holidays on Smith River.
