While less ncreugo was plant ed in this slalo this year than last, weather conditions more than made up for this difference and Nebraska has one of the best wheat crops in her history. II ls believed that tbe total crop will not be far below lno, oclll.ooo bushels. Tho grain is of good quality. Last year the crop was enormous, but the value was cut about SO per cent by the persistent rains in har vest time. This year, weather con ditions havo been ideal. The dry early part of tho season prevented the grain running to stalk, and tho later plentiful rains brought out (he heads well. There also was very slight damage by hall this year, while a year ago there was considerable damage in some sections of tho state. The wheat Ibis year Is also heavier than usual. Culling began nt the Southern Ne braska line about July I, and prac tically all tbe Nebraska crop Is now In the stack or being threshed. GLENDALE NEWS Airs. J. S.
