The rural school supervisory system is the first move to bring the rural Rchools up to a standard of efficiency. 2. The rural schools of Douglas county have improved much more raply under this system than under any system previously inaugurated. 3. No well regulated business is ever successfully managed without expert supervision. "Education Jp " -cnuh'lc's chief business." It is ut terly impossible fr a county school superintendent to supervise all the schools of Douglas county and at the same time keep up the clerical work of tuo office of superintendent. 4. The expense of rural school supervision is nominal, being lesf than 8 cents per $1000. 5. The city schools have expert supervision paid for by tbo taxpayers of the city. Surely the rural schools are entitled to the samo, especially when the rural taxpayers pay a tax to support tho high school ' if the county. , The - ' -nhool 'supervisor adds more than tho value of his salary to the efficiency of tho rural teacher by demanding that the work bo kept 'up to tho (Standard and showing the way. 7. The greatest expense to flny "nrm of government lg In suppress ing crime. Douglas county is no exception. The expense of the cir cuit court of Douglas county is un reasonable. Statistics show that 90 per cent of tno Inmates of some of tho reformatories of the nation are boys and girls who wero born In tho country. The rural Bchool super visor keeps -oys and girls in school and thus greatly minimizes tho probabilities of their falling Into habits which may lead to crime. Therefore, Do It resolved, by the Pomona Crange of Douglas county in regular session, that wo go on record in favor of the rural sobol supervisory system and earnestly re quest the continunnco of the snm. The gifted authoress of this popular song was Mrs. Norton, a grandaughter of the famous ' Richard Brinsley Sheridan, born in Eng land in 1808. Her songs of "Bingen on the Rhine" and "Juanita" were very Eopular. She died 1877 and lived to ear the echoes of her plaintive "Juanita" come to her from nearly every civilized country in the world. !1 The Army of Coupon Clippers are to be Found in Our Office from Dawn to Darkness!
