ARRESTED FOR NOT Because he lacked a quarter with which to pay for his room a 17-year- old hoy giving the name of Wm. Hetntz, was arrested yesterday by Officer Williams. He gave his ad dress as Stockton, Calif., where hu stated he had relatives living. Ac cording to the hoy's story he and his brother came to Rosehurg Monday night, beating their way on a freight. They went to the Oregon rooming house where they secured a room, the brother making all the arrange ments. Tuesday morning he was awakened by the landlady, Mrs. Hastings, and found that his brother' had left him, leaving the board bill I unpaid, Not having the funds with which to meet the bill he was placed. under arrest and taken before the city re corder, who gave him a few hours in which to raise the money. Re turning to the rooming house he did several small Jobs of work for Mrs. Hastings and in this way settled his bill and was allowed to leave tl'.'J city. , . CITY NEWS.
