MILL SPEAK TKURS.
That the good roads meeting to
be held Thursday will not lack a
good speaker is evidenced In the
following telegram received by
Henry- Harth this morning: "Good
Roads Bureau- Roseburg, Oregon:
Will be with you on Thursday ev
ening. (Signed.) J. B. Yeon." Mr.
Yeon is an enthusiast on good roads
and a very forceful speaker.
This man is also interested in
Roseburg and vicinity, as he has pur
chased an' interest in the water and
light plant here in partnership with
Mr. Pullman, of Portlond,, Mr.
Welch having sold his interest to
these two men. Besides his prop
erty here he is the owner of a great
deal of property interests in Port
land, principal of which is the Yeon
office building of which he is the
owner.
"When the matter of building the
Columbia highway first came to the
attention, Mr. Yeon became enthus
ed with the idea and immediately
set to work to mnke it a possibility.
More than any other man he was re
sponsible for this magnificent high
way which is acknowledged by all'
to he one of the miost beautiful
roads in the United States.
He is an eloquent speaker and
thoroughly versed jn the subject of
good roads and his address will un
doubtedly be greatly enjoyed.
