Arrangements have been made
whereby the Itoseburg high school
basket ball team will meet the Ash
land high school team at the local
armory Saturday night. Each -team
has now won a game and the com
ing contest promises to be a hard
fought one. The teams averuge close
to tho same weight and are equully
fast. Another game will be played
with the 3ame team Monday. TheBO
games will decide the championship
of southern Oregon.
The Roseburg boys are after the
state championship and It looks as if
nothing could stop them from win
ning. As tun as conditions have
adjusted themselves and school is
re-estabiished an effort will be made
to Induce the team of the Salem
high school to come to this city and
the deciding games will be pluyed.

finances of the coming games they

night and the results obtained In a
few short hours evidences the fact
that the Roseburg people are tak
ing a greatdeal more Interest In the

fore. Tickets are going fast and al
tnough the expense of bringing the
Ashland te:nn to Roseburg is very
heavy It begins to appear as if the

tend until tho games are played that

The Juvenile band has offored
their services and will be present to
support the team heBldcs giving a
concert before the game. The con
test Saturday night will not Btart
before nine o'clock, giving all those
who are employed In tho various

A preliminary between the Junior
an.'. Sopnomore teams for the inter
dass championship will be played
before Saturday's game starting at
7:30. A girls preliminary will prob
ably be held Monday night.

band will give a concert in
Roseburg tonight, February 9,
-at the armory. Critics pro-
nounce this organization the
greatest high school band In
the west. It is under the dl-
rectlon of E. W. Moses, who is
well known In musical circles
and has given this band his par-
tlcular care and rigorous train-
ing. This evening we may
have the opportunity to see
them when they present their
program of classic, standard
and popular music both in con-
cert and solo selections. They
