known barber, recently earned
the distinction of kilting the
largest hear seen in this local
ity fW years. Mr, Hart, who Is
Home sportsman, recent ly went
to t he hills for a brief hunt
and was well paid for his trou
ble. Ilo had been scouring the
hills but a short time when he
run across a large bear grazing
along a stream. P-rt took aim
and hanged away at the hear,
but unfortunately the bullet
went wild. The report of the
shot scared bruin and he start
ed along the foothills at a speed
estimated by Mr. Hart at 50
miles an hour. Hart gave
chase, however, and after eon
s idem hie difficulty succeeded
in killing the animal. The bear
weighed bout 4 00 pounds.
