Pacific switchman, was arraigned
before Justice of the Peace ilea ben

The Wlllamette-Paclfle Railroad
Company today filed a suit In the cir
cuit court against J. II. Thorpe and
wife, who own considerable property
In the vicinity of Gardiner. The
plaintiffR allege that the company Is
incorporated under the laws of Ore
gon, and they contemplate the con
struction of a railroad from Kugeno
Lane county, to Marshfleld. I n or
der fo procure the necessary right-of-ways
they appeal to the courts to
fix t he assessment against t he land
owned by Thorpe, which the plain
lifts consider is not worth (o ex
ceed $;i.ono. The plaintiffs are rep
resented by Attorneys O. P. Coshow.
