Frank Ruscljno,- an Italian laborer
associated with extra pang No. 3, lo
cated at the foot of Rice Hill about
two miles from this city, was found
near tli outfit cars early Wednesday
morning In an unconscious condition,
many, bruises were In svidence on
different parts of the man's person
while his head showed conclusive
evidence of having come In contact
with coinething pretty Bolld. Dr. Mor
tensen was called and administered
all possible assistance but 1b yet un
able to state the exact extent of the
injuries. From what can be learned.
the unfortunate man visited Rose
burg last Tuesday and must have at
tempted to alight from train No. 16
on his return near where the outfit
cars are stationed and that In doing
so was thrown violently, as the sur
face of the ground In that vicinity
was considerably disturbed. That he
was not killed out right Is remark
able, as at that point all trains travel ;
