Michael Maloncy died t his home
on Grave Creek on the 29th tilt. He
was the son of Edward and Susan
Maloney, who were among the earl
iest pioneers of Douglas county, their
pioneer home being near Myrtle
Creek. Mr. Maloney wns -burled at
the family graveyard at that place.
He a3 brought up in the stilctest
way Recording to the Catholic church
and his whole life exemplified ' the
beauty of that teaching. He leaves
a wife and seven children to mourn
their irreparable loss. He had many
friends in this city and vicinity, and
to all we tender our sympathy In the
hour of bereavement.

Eva Pearl McClaln, tho seven year
old daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. G. J.
.McClaln, died Thursday morning
from tonsilltls. The little oue hud
only been ailing a short time and
her death was, a shock to all who
kiif w her. Mr. McClaln Is In East
ern Oregon, but Is expected home In
time for the funeral which wil be
held Saturday at 10 a. in.
