"There is no doubt about the election of McKinley," Raid the senator when j seen today in the hotel corridors at the Perkins. "How about the German vote in the Middle Wet, upon which the Dryanitea ; are banking'"' was asked. "From what I could learn," replied Mr. Mitchell, ' disappointment awaits Bryan's lollow ing there. Most of the silbitantial Germans of Now York state, including all the old familie, will vote for McKinley. From thee German in the other states of the Union take their cne. News was received here today that the dominion surveyors who have been en gaged in an effort to locate the interna tional boundary line where it passes through the Mount K iker mining dis trict in Whatcom county, abandoned their work on October 9lh and left the country. According to their field note, the lino passes two miles south of where it was always supposed to have run, which their scientific observation place tho 49th parallel, which i the boundary line, within a quarter of a mile of where it is always supposed to have been. Should the field notes stand in the majority, the finest mining properties in the country will be on the Catadian side. The matter will undoubtedly have to be made the subject of negotiations between the two governments as to where the line shall be. Cured of Chronic Diarrhoea After Thirty Years of Suffering.
