NO BETTER PLACE.
How Dalles Farmers Supply the Markets
Ih Other Cities.
- It is tmoeinst to note just how much
of a figure Dalles products cut in the
Portland and other neighboring markets.
In looking over a report of the vegetable
market in Portland, published in a re
: cent copy of the Oregon Agriculturist, it
was flattering to notice bow many dif
ferent products were shipped from Tbe
Dalles.
In speaking of green corn, egg plant,
water melons, mask melons, green peas
and numerous other vegetables, and
fruits as well, our section of the state is
' mentioned more frequently than any
other. It is particularly noticable that
oar farmers are the first to ship their
supplies to these markets, taking the
lead, as nsnal. in this matter.'
Not alone in this particolar, bat in
many, do we find that The Dalles is not
a nonentity,- but it is famous every here
lor its wealth of resources. How often
have those who are old residenters taken t
cognizance of tbe fact that those of their
neighbors who, having amassed wealth
here and becoming uneasy, remove to
other places, only to lose what they left
with, and in lime return, coming to the
cor.clneion that they had made a mis
take in turning their backs on a place of
such varied opportunities for gaining a
livelihood. It would have been well for
such bad they looked before they leaped.
There is sufficient proof all aronnd us
that a person may look far and wide be
fore finding a better city to choose as
their abiding place than The Dalles.

Judge Frank Ives of District Court of
Crookston, Minn., says : For some time
I have used Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets
with seeming gTeat benefit with fsw ex
ceptions, I have not been bo free from
indigestion in twenty-five years. '
George W. Roosevelt, TJ. S. consul to
Brussels, Belgium : Stuart'-i Dyspepsia
Tablets, safe, pleasant to take, conven
ient to carry, give keen appetite, perfect
digestion.
Mr. W. D. Tomlin, mechanical engi

work, and I am again gaining flesh and
strength.
O. E. Ransom, Hutonviile, Ky.: I
was distreesedand annoyed for two years
with i throwing up food often two or
three times a day ; bad no certainty of
retaining a meal if I ate one. Four boxes
of the tablets from my druggiet have
fully cured me. I find them pleasant
to take, convenient to carry.
Rev. G. D. Brown, Mondovi, Wis. :
The effect of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets
is simply marvelous; a quite hearty din
ner of broiled beefsteak causes no distress
since I begun their use.
Over six thousand people in the state
of Michigan alone in 1894 were cured
of stomach troubles by Stuart's Dyspep
sia Tablets.
