. The Christian church was filled to
overflowing last evening with those who
came to bear Rev. I. H. Hozel in his in
teresting series of sermons on Revela
tions. He finds no difficulty in inter
preting the wonderful symbols of that
most perpjexing book of the Bible, and
gives' them a meaning most significant
in the light of history. His text last
evening was "Sealing the 144,000," re
ferring to the twelve tribes of Judea of
12,000 each. ' Thu Roman Catholio
chnrch contended, according to the
speaker, that the sealing was done with
holy water by the index finger of the
priest upon the foreheads of those com
posing the tribee, but he believed the
sealing was not done in so material a
manner, but that the spirit was sealed
for God through a more convincing pro
cess. The angels, who- held the four
winds, standing at the four corners of
the earth were four great earthly pow-
ere, who became subject to the angel
rising from the sunrise. Constantino
was this angel, or messenger, as the
literal meaning is, who by conquering
the four great powers, had control over
the four angels.
AT THE BAPTIST CHURCH.
Rev. O. D. Taylor at the First Baptist
church, took for his theme, "The light
of the glory in the face of Jesus CUrist,"
from II Cor. lv:6, fpllowing with "And
they shall see Hia face," Eev. xxii :4.
Not only with Jesus Christ, the fullness
of the Godhead, but be had a rxforal
character of his own. A part of the joy
of friendship is the presence of one's
friend. And so David said : "In Thy
presence is fullness of joy and at Thy
right hand there are pleasures forever
more." The greatest joy of Heaven to
the Christian will be to behold Hia face,
Not by the eye of faith, as now, he shall
look upon bis Lord, but when he shall
eee Him eye to eye and face to face'. In
His face we shall behold first the glory
of His infinite love, second, the glory of
His infinite grace, third, the glory of the
perfect sacrifices. His body also bhall
bear the ' marks of this sacrifice.
"Five bleeding wounds He bears,
Received on Calvary."
Fourth, the glory of unselfish ser
vice, fifth, the glory of the finished re
demption, aud lastly, the glory of His
victory over death, hell and the grave.
In His earthly life He perfected all these
moral characteristics and tbey belong to
His personality and will appear in the
glory of His countenance when be comes
from the throne of his glory, when he
comps to receive His own. .Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it doth
not yet appear what we shall be, but
this we know, that when He shall ap
pear we shall be like Him, for we shall
see Him as He is.
METHODIST CHURCH.
A union service was held at the M. E.
church at 7:30 p.m. The' rostrum was
occupied by Eev. J. H. Wood, Eev. W.
C. Curtis and Eev. Eitzler, agent of the
American Bible Society. The sermon
was delivered by Eev. Eitzler, and par
took more of the character of a lecture.
He spoke chiefly of the work of the
American Bible Society, a work in which
all Protestant chnrcheB are interested
alike. The text was taken from Nehe
miah, "And the work is great and
large." Sixty million Bibles have al
ready been distributed by this society,
printed in over 200 different languages
and dialects. The work is spread over
the whola earth, the sun in its course
shining upon assemblies all studying the
pame lesson from Bibles furnished by
this society. He considered the society
was, more nearly than any other, follow
ing the divine injunction to go and
preach the word to all nations. The
sermon was illustrated and made plain by
anecdotes and experiences, which cover
a wide range with Mr. Eitzler. Miss
Myrtle Micbell sang the beautiful solo,
"in Heavenly Love Abiding."
A Gentle Corrective
is what you need when your
liver becomes inactive. It's
what you get when yon take
Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets ;
they're free from the violence
ana ine gnping mat
come with the ordinary
pill. The best medical
authorities agree that
in regfulating the bowels
mild methods are pref
erable. For every de
rangement of the liver,
stomach and bowels,
these tiny, sugar coated
pills are most effective.
They go about their
work in . an easy and
natural way, and their
good lasts. Once used,
they are always in fa
vor. Being composed
of the choicest, concen
trated, vegetable ex
tracts, they cost much
more than other pills
found in the market,
yet from forty to forty
four are put up in each
sold through druggists, at the price of the
cheaper made pills.
" Pleasant Pellets " cure biliousness, sick
and bilious headache, dizziness, costive
ness, or constipation, sour stomach, loss of
appetite, coated tongue, indigestion, or dys
pepsia, windy belchings, "heart-burn,"
pain and distress after eating, and kindred
derangements of the liver, stomach -and
bowels. Put up in sealed glass vials, there
fore always fresh and reliable. Whether
as a laxative, or in larger doses, as a gently
acting but searching cathartic, these little
" Pellets " are unequaled.
Asa" dinner pill," to promote digestion,
take one each day after dinner. To relieve
the distress arising from over-cating, noth
ing equals one of these little " Pellets."
They are tiny, sugar-coated,, anti-bilious
granules. Any child readily takes them.
Accept no substitute that may be recom
mended to be "just as good." It maybe
better for the dealer, because of paying
him a better profit, but he is not the one
who needs help.
A free sample (4 to 7 doses) on trial, is
mailed to any address, post-paid, on receipt
of name and address on postal card. i
