In time, if yon are
ferer from that scourge
of humanity known
consumption, and
can be cured. There
the evidence of
hundreds of liv
ing witnesses to
tne tact tnat, tn
ill its , early,
stages, consump
tion is a curable
disease. Not
every case, but a
large percentage
cases, and we believe,
fully per cent.
cured by Dr. Pierce'
Golden Medical Dis
covery, even after the disease has pro
gressed so far as to induce repeated bleed
ings from the lungs, severe lingering cough
witn copious expectoration (including tu
bercular matter), great loss of flesh and ex
treme emaciation and weakness.
Do von doubt that hundreds of such cases
reported to us as cured by " Golden Med
ical Discovery " were genuine cases of that
dread and fatal disease ? Yon need nottake
our word for it. They have, in nearly every
instance, been so pronounced by the best
and most experienced home physicians,
who have no interest -whatever in mis
representing them, and who were often
strongly prejudiced and advised against
a trial of ''Golden Medical Discovery,"
but who have been forced to confesst that
it surpasses, in curative power over' this
fatal malady, all other medicines with
which they are acquainted. Nasty cod
liver oil and its filthy "emulsions" and
mixtures, had been tried in nearly all these
cases and had either utterly failed to bene
fit, or had only seemed to benefit a little for
a short time. Extract of malt, whiskey,
and various preparations of the hypo
phosphites had also been faithfully fried
in vain.
The photographs of a large number of
those cured of consumption, bronchitis,
lingering coughs, asthma, chronic nasal
catarrh and kindred maladies, have been
skillfully reproduced in a book of 160
pages which will be mailed to yon, on
receipt pf address and six cents in
stamps. You can then write to those who
have been cured and profit by their ex
perience. Address for Book, World's Dispensary

Editor Chronicle: It has occurred
to me many times to inquire what the
income from our water system is; what

There is more Catarrh in this section
. of the country than all other disease
' put. together, and until the last few
years was supposed to ,be incnrable.
for a- great many years doctors pro
nounced it a local disease, and prescrib
ed local remedies, and by constantly
failing to cure with local treatment, pro
nounced it incurable. Sciencs has
proven catawh to be a constitutional
disease and therefore requires constitu
tional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure,
manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co.
Toledo, Ohio, is the only constitutional
cure on the market. It is taken inter
nally in doses from 10 drops to a tea
spoonful. It acts directly on the blood
mucous surfaces of the system. They
otter one hundred dollars for any case it
fails to cure. Send for circulars and tes

Concerning; Mrs. Hintdale.
Mrs. F. Hinsd ale's fine soprano voice
added greatly to the interest of the even
ing's program and each number she
sang was greeted with a hearty encore.
Her first song was "Gay Gitana,"' a
.lovely little Spanish ballad by C. A.
Harris, given with castinets and tam
bourine. This was the second time in
America and the first time in California
that the song has been sung, Mr. Harris
having composed it for his friend, the
singer.
In response to the encore which this
brought out, Mrs. Hinsdale grve Strel
eaki's "Dreams." Her second regular
number was Kuchen's lovely song "Good
Night, Farewell," in which the pure,
true tones of her soprano voice appeared
o great advantage ana wtiicii was re
ceived with great appreciation and an
imperative recall, when Mrs. Hinsdale
gave "The Song Bridge," and a delicious
quaint little bit which was like an old
English madrigal, "All is Sleeping.''

Thousands of persons flounder along
for months, yes even years, suffering
from indigestion, bowel troubles and
liver disorders with their accompanying
disagreeable symptoms, because they
think they have to. . If they would take
a short course of Dr. J. H. McLean's
Liver and Kidney Balm they would soon
get rid of the miserable feeling and that
overpowering sense of weariness and in
capacity for work, would give place to
one of health, vigor and cheerfulness.
