Reunion
of '76
the Alumni Association had a
reunion on June 17,18, and 19
here at Chemawa.
About 200 former Chemawa
students attended. An important
part of their business was to elect
a new president. The new President,
Ray Haldane, is a former student
here at Chemawa.
Mr. Haldane
graduated with the class of 1927. He
is living in Seattle, Washington.
The Superintendent, Mr. Edward
Lonefight, wasd the Master of Cere­
monies. The principal speaker was
Frank Peratrovich of Alaska.

Our reporters talked to Mr. Ed
Bartlett, Vice Principal of Chemawa
School, who said, “ The classes we
have chosen for summer school are
the classes where the students will
get the most out of each class. A
few have been thrown in to even
things out.”
A student who commented was
Mooney Frank of The Dalles,Oregon
Q. How do you like Summer School?
A. Ok, but I still want Advanced P.E.
Q. Do you like the way the classes
are listed?
A. Yea, it’ll do.

The Alumni came from places such
as: Oregon, California, Montana,
Washington, Alaska, Arizona and
Puerto Rico. Bill Hlemeret received
recognition for being the oldest.
Eli Nichols received recognition for
traveling the farthest.
Congressman Al Ulman came out
and talked and visited with the
Alumni Association members.
