Art of Another Kind
Graphic Arts is a class full of ad
venture. No where else will you en
joy such achievement, and work with
machines and an accurate pair of
(your own) hands.
The class is hassle free because
the teacher (Ron Berg) is an al
right guy.
The Graphic Arts class has plenty
of important printing jobs, such as
printing this year’s yearbook, also
the printing of many documents.
And, of course, some of your school
work. Another of the class projects
are printing this highly under-rated
paper. Why not check it out some
time.
Just tell’em, The Prophet

Sing-along Time
Did you know Chemawa has a
school song?
Well we do.
We
got together some information on
the song and here it is....

You

the
Chemawa, We’ll love thee forever,
Thy maples and walnuts so fair,—
The sunlight that falls on the fir trees,
Thy walks and thy flowers so rare;
And over the western mountains
Our banner is floating above—
And dear to our hearts will be ever,
Chemawa, the school that we love,—
(Chorus)
Oh, here’s to our dear red and white
For you all our lives we will fight,
Our homage we bring,—
The welkin shall ring.
All hail to our dear red and white.
Thy sons and daughters so loyal,
Proud to own the dear name that we bear,
For the truth and the knowledge tho teachest
We are ready to fight and to dare;
For our friendship so valued we thank-thee.
Our grateful tribute we bring—
All hail to our Alma Mater,
Chemawa, to thee we sing—
The Chemawa school song was
originally adapted from the Oberlin
College song. It was brought to
Chemawa by a teacher named Har
wood Hall. His wife and daughter
had gone to Oberlin College in Ohio.
When they came to Chemawa, they
changed the Oberlin song to fit Che
mawa.
Gertrude Turney revised more and
made it popular here at Chemawa.
