Chemawa Hosts N.C.A.I Banquet
On November 10, 1975,
there was a banquet and en
tertainment held for the
NCAI
(National Congress of
American Indians).
They
were having meetings at the
Sheraton Hotel in Portland,
Oregon.
They also had a judging
for Miss NCAI of 1975-761
Two contestants were from
Chemawa: Marie Balleu, and
Iva Smith. They were run
ning against about 50 other
girls for the title. They
competed to wear the crown
of Miss NCAI.
There was also talent
performed in the Auditorium
at 7:30 p. m. with N.I.C.E.
Club, and then the talent
judging for Miss NCAI which
started at 8:00 p.m.
We were very glad to see
them and had the chance to
show off
our
school.

I know they enjoyed us.
