To the Class of 1969
During your years a t Che
mawa, you have had many var
ied and worthwhile a sso c ia
tions and experiences in edu
c a tio n , s o c ia l l iv i n g and
leadership. Each one of you,
I am c e rta in , w ill take away
with you new s tr e n g th s in
these areas of human endeav
or. I t i s a rapidly changing
and challenging era in which
you have come of age. Experts
p r e d ic t today t h a t by the
year 2000 the population of
the world w ill have doubled;
man w ill have e s ta b lis h e d
him self firm ly in space ex
p lo ra tio n ; and the problems
of man in regard to a ir pol
lution, n u tritio n and housing
w ill have become in f i n it e ly
more challenging and complex
than they are today. This is
the world which you in h e r it
and I know th a t many of you
w ill mhke a s ig n if ic a n t and
lastin g contribution in solv
ing some of i t s problems.
I t is my hope and b e l i e f
th a t d u rin g your y e a rs a t
Chemawa each o f you h as
opened a door in your mind
which has given you a vision
of the magnificence and beau
ty of l i f e which w ill be with
you always. Be proud of your
attainm ents; s tr iv e to learn
more; be generous to those
l e s s f o r tu n a te than y o u r
selv es; be firm in your re
solve; and most important of
a ll be courageous; never give
up; and I am certain th a t you
w ill liv e honorably and well
with your fellow man.
Remember your school and i t s
