Chemawa O ffice P ra c tic e s tu d e n ts work in
the Administration Office under the direction
of Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Azure and Mrs. Cowley.
They h a n d le th e PBX sw itc h b o a rd , which
involves p la c in g long d ista n c e as well as
local c a lls . They answer a l l incoming c a lls
and route them to the proper extension. In
ad d ition to handling the sw itchboard, they
f i l e , prep are l i s t s and o p e ra te the Xerox
machine.
Under the supervision o f Mrs. Holman, the
Academic secretary, O ffice P ractice students
s e e y e t another sid e o f o f f ic e work, w ith
the h e c tic pace of the P rin c ip a l’ s O ffice.
In addition to answering the telephone, the
students keep the attendance book up to date,
make c a ll s on th e classroom in terco m and
a s s is t Mrs. Holman in f ilin g and typing.
S tudents placed in the Guidance O ffice as
p a rt of th e ir O ffiqe P ra c tic e tra in in g work
under the supervision of Mrs. Carlson. These
s tu d e n ts a c t as a r e c e p t i o n i s t f o r th e
guidance s ta f f , as w ell as answer the phone,
typing and f ilin g .
Other O ffice P ra c tic e stu d en ts work in the
Placement O ffice preparing the weekend work
l i s t and a ssistin g Mr. Matt.
