BAND CLINIC

were appro x im a tely 500 Band
stu d e n ts from 1 4 s c h o o ls and
t h e i r d i r e c t o r s on campus.
The C lin ic was conducted fay

Oregon C o lle g e o f E ducation
Band.
The C l i n i c com m enced a t

m e e tin g in d i f f e r e n t rooms
t o d is c u s s th e d if f e r e n t and
many problem s t h a t fa c e th e
p la y e r s o f ea ch p a T t f c u la r
in str u m e n t o f t h e Band. At
11:00 a.m. th e em phasis was
p la c e d on en sem b le p la y in g
and th e lit e r a t u r e a v a ila b le
f o r e n s e m b le s . D u r in g t h e
lu n ch hour, th e O.C.E. Band
and th e g u e st d ir e c t o r s had
lu n ch in th e Chemawa D in in g
H a ll, w h ile th e v i s i t i n g
s t u d e n t s a te t h e ir sa ck
l u n c h e s in t h e gym. The
‘M eteors* , Chemawa* s Rock
B and, p r o v id e d m u sic f o r
l i s t e n i n g and dancing in th e
gym.
The s e s s i o n c lo s e d w ith a
concert fo r a l l th e Band s t u ­
dents performed by th e O.C.E.
B a n d . The m u s ic p ro g ra m
included a wide range o f Band
a r r a n g e m e n t s - - f r o m B a ch
(1 6 th Century) to H ovanhess
(2 0 th C entury).
Chemawa was very p le a se d to
be th e h o s t f o r th e C l i n i c
t h i s y e a r . The Music D epart­
ment w ish es to ex p r e ss t h e ir
thanks to a l l t h e s t a f f and
a d m in is t r a t io n members f o r
h e lp in g to make th e C lin ic a
su ccess.

new o f f i c e u p s t a i r s i n th e
Employee* s Club which i s used
fo r b u sin e ss.

were bought from th e Art Cen­
t e r and hung in th e o f f i c e ,
a new f i l i n g c a b in et has been
bought and an o ld s a f e , which
i s s t i l l in good sh a p e, has
been purchased.
