Graduation Program — 1963
Two P.M. on A pril 17, 1963, was
our wonderful, long awaited gradu
ation day. The graduation exercises
were held in the auditorium . The
class colors of blue and w hite were
used to decorate the seats where
the graduates sat.
It was a glorious day for the
Class of 1963. Some w ere lonely
because they knew they would be
leaving th eir friends when the day
was over.
Some of us are still here in school
and some graduates are on th e job.
It seems strange w hen you tu rn
around to smile at a friend and he
is no longer there. We miss them
all but we knew they will keep
th e ir prom ise and do the best work
th a t they cam All of us will re
m em ber our motto: “E ducation is
the Key to the F u tu re ” and we will
try to get m ore education as we go
along. Yes, G raduation m akes us
happy and sad.

Im m ediately following the Grad
uation exercises the Home Econom
ics Staff honored the graduates
with a reception. The Student Coun
cil, the G irls’ Choir and staff m em
bers w ere guests also.
The serving table was nicely dec
orated. The refreshm ents w ere very
good. The graduates really appreci
ated the reception and wish to say,
“Many thanks,” to the Home Eco
nomics teachers and th e girls who
helped. The reception will be an
other added memory. All the grad
uates should be thankful th a t they
are in Chemawa w here they can
enjoy such nice activities.
