we didn’t think we’d win a trophy,
but did by a miracle. Everybody
was all excfted and most happy.

for winning the trophy. We all hope
they’ll continue with their /wonder
ful job throughout the basketball

CHEMAWA WINS
Chemawa Indians won in the first
round of the fourth annual Mac-
Laren Invitational Basketball Tour
nament. The games were played at
MacLaren. Chemawa Indians upset
Valsetz 75 to 46. Roger Henry made
24 points and Curly Martin scored
20. The other boys on the team
who aided in the win were Earl
Tsosie, Nelson Charley, Johnny
Ahngasuk, Charley Watchman and
Tom Joe Nez.

BASKETBALL
We had a basketball game hero
last Friday with Perrydale. The
Varsity team played a nice game.
They won the game. The score was
48 to 22.
The Jr? Varsity teams played
against each other for the first
game? I hope that we win again
when we play our next game which
is against Valsetz.

OUR GAME WITH ST. VINCENT
We played a basketball game
with St. Vincent’s last Saturday.
Thè “D” team played the first
game. We won, the score being 22
to 14. The -“C” team played the
second game and the score was
Chemawa 35 to St. Vincent’s 31.
The high point man on our “D”
team was Earl Peterson. He scored
8 points. The high man on the “C”
team was Henry Tso, scoring 8
points. The high scorer on St. Vin
cent’s team was Mike Salstrom,
scoring 6 points. It was a nice game.
