Winona Hall Has
Open House
When the bell rang in Winona
Hall at ten o’clock on the morning
of February 22, the girls were
ready for their open house. Patsy
Ochiho and Charlotte Running-
crane greeted the guests and asked
them to sign the guest book. Girls
in’J^nits 1 and 2, directed by Ger
aldine Hamlin and Eleanor Rabbie,
guided the Visitors through the
building? With ballot and pencil in
hand, supplied by Nettie Racine
and Beverly Carlson, each visitor
was prepared to vote for the room
he thought bestkept in each hall,
and for the best councilors’ room.
A guide assigned to several per
sons first took them to the arts and
crafts salesroom where they saw
articles the girls had made in their
hobby clubs.\4 Some of these were
for sale, others on display Arlene
Vaille, activities councilor, was in
charge of this room.
As guests were taken to see the
girls’ roopis they were unanimous
in saying that it was difficult to
select a best room since every room
looked so nice?, When the ballots,
collected by MaryJElla Teller and
Mary Nez, were tabulated later, it
was found that all rooms had re
ceived v o te|^ This made the girls
feel that their open house was suc
cessful; all girls had taken part in
getting their dormitory ready, and
all had a share in the reward. They
congratulated those in rooms which
had the most votes and won the
chocolate cakes given as prizes.
The guests wTere served cookies
and punch in the dining room by
girls in the living room. The guest
book showed that l,5<0 persons had
come to visit Winona Hall.r The
girls were happy to have thehi and
enjoyed their company;
