Cooking Class Party
The eleventh grade girls in Miss
Lucy Hendrick’s cooking class, as
a project, gave a party for the chil
dren of the first, second, and third
grades. Other guests were Miss
Jessie Ohman, primary teacher,
Mrs. Lena Cronk, apd Mrs. Exilda
•Schultz.
The’ ..party was / planned, pre
pared, and carried out by the girls.
They made the chocolate cake, ice
cream, and punch served for re
freshments, and little baskets for
A candy which were given to the chil
dren for favors. Patsy Carlson was
hostess, Peggy Washington and
Nancy Jerry directed the games,
"and Dixie Sellars,. Willene Du-
more, Yvonne I Choate, Dorothy
Harris Delores Bennett, and Mar
garet Kennerly seryed the refresh
ments.
§ The parjy was held in the dining
room off the cooking laboratory,
from 10:45 to ;fl:30 a.m. Refresh
ments were served as, soon as, the
guests arrived. Records of chil
dren’s music were; played while
they ate. For entertainment, chil
dren’s games, such as Blind Man’s
Buff, Farmer in the Dell, and Lon
don Bridge is Falling Down were
played.

chanical drawing every Friday. Mr?
V. J. Matt is the instructor. The
boys like it.
Mechanical drawing is needed by
auto mechanics as it is for most
mechanics.. If they , are told to work
from a blueprint they must know

Unit 5 Earns Award
Competition between unit 5 and
unit 1 was very close during Feb
ruary. On the last day un‘ti;5 camp
out on top and so won the award.

Carlson, celebrated its victory by
attending the Elsinore Theater in
Salem for the movie T h e L ong,
L o n g T ra iler. The girls enjoyed
the afternoon and thought it was
worthwhile putting in a month of
hard work.
McBride Hall girls who had the
highest number of points for the
month were awarded along with
unit 5. Miss Alberta Challis, girls/
adviser, accompanied the group.

The arts and crafts sales room
at Winona Hall was open to. the
public for the first, time at their
