Job Opportunities Survey
Mr. Wright Noel, instructor in
agriculture, and Mr. Edgar L.
Wight, agriculture specialist, were
in central Oregon in the Burns
Prineville, and Redmond region
during the week December 4-10, in
the interest of student placement.
They visited large stock, hay, and
small grains farms, inquiring into
job opportunities. The results of
the trip are that there is assurance
that all boys who are interested in
ranching and farming jobs, can be
placed in that region upon gradu
ation from Chemawa.
The girls of Winona Hall have
fire drills quite often. In the last
fire drill everybody got out of the
building in less than two minutes.
At any time, when the bell rings
and keeps on ringing, the girls real
ize that they have to shut their win
dows and doors and leave the dor
mitory in an orderly fashion. The
girls in south hall downstairs leave
from the side door; those in north
hall downstairs leave by the back
door; and the girls who live up
stairs go out the front door. They
line up with their councilors, who
take roll and report to Miss Chal
lis or Miss Tedlock. While the roll
is being taken, the matrons check
the building to see if all the doors
and windows have been closed.

Christmas Music
The choir of the Catholic campus
church, directed by Father John
son, is preparing Christmas music.
The choir sings in three parts.
Some of the songs are, The Great
King of King«, Oh Come, Oh Come,
Emannuel, Hail, Queen of Heaven,
The Snow Lay on the Ground, and
Gesu Bambino.

Our Trip to Salem
All first year Navajo students
had a trip to Salem. This is what
we did.
We went to Kickback. They told
us this is where you can get a bus
to Salem. A round trip ticket costs
thirty cents. Our next stop was at
the Greyhound Bus Depot. They
showed us how and where to get
a ticket They showed us where you
can check your baggage. We can
ask questions at the bus depot.
We went to Roberts Brothers
Store. Next we rode the escalator.
We saw many clothes and Christ
mas things.
