and has been recuperating at the
home of her daughter in San An

Mrs. Ann Bjorg, sister of Mrs.
Mitchell, with the cooperation of the
boys, has been temporarily in charge
of the boys' building during Mrs
Mitchell's absence.
Unit one leader, Reginald Wells,
won the Unit award for having the
most points lor the second quarter.
The boys enjoyed a show at a Salem
theater. These unit award trips are
financed through the sale of pop and
candy in the building evenings.
Under the supervision of Mr. Hud
son and with the cooperation of the
varsity basketball players, an intra
mural program is reaching out to
all the fellows who have not had
experience on the court or have not
been interested in the sport before.
As a result there are some exciting
games which result in close scores
which furnish an evening's entertain
ment for all participants. These
games teach the boys the funda
mentals of the game, keep them oc
cupied, and are an excellent place
to demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Raymond Pete and Rodney Davis
of McNary Hall have been helping
in Mitchell hall by aiding the little
men in organizing their details and
teaching them how to become lead
ers. Ernest Lane, Milton Tatowat, and
Franklin Lewis are the little men
leaders in Mitchell hall

screen. Alice said "Thank-you" and
invited everyone to have punch and
cookies. The table had two lighted
red candles and a little electric
Christmas tree on it, which was so
pretty. The officer girls served and
all the girls behaved real nicely. It
was a ver ynice party and we are all
so glad to get such a wonderful
Christmas present for all the Mc
Bride hall girls to enjoy.
Every other Monday night we have
movies in our rumpus room. The
house officers picked out the shows
they wanted to see. There are shows
about travel, cowboys, scenery, car
toons of Mickey Mouse and many
others. This week Mr. Ashcutt showed
us some pictures he took last spring
at the school picnic. He also showed
pictures of the Indians in Oklahoma,
the scenery in Arizona, New Mexico
and Vancouver, B. C., where he had
visited.
The McBride girls also now have
a pop corn popper. It is electric. The
group that wins this time will get to
pop corn All the girls are trying their
best to win. It's going to be hard to
choose the best one. If evervone is
good they'll all get a turn. The of
ficer girls already have had a pop
corn party.
We have been buying many nice
things for McBride hall with the

which makes it look pretty. We also
bought the pop corn popper from
our candy money. Now we're aoing

Jeanette Blade and Joye James have
made it look very gay with two
green walls, two gray walls and red
woodwork. They also did the ping
pong room in the same colors, 'they
should be very proud of how well
they did. Now the house councillors
are painting their rooms. Jeanette
and Imogene's is coral, Eulalie and
Joyce have deep rose with Janice
and Georgianna in sunshine yellow.
It is hard to say which is the pretti

work ivory which makes the rooms
so much lighter looking than with
the original dark woodwork.
