The Chemawa American
Health Education Stressed
Health films, "Goodbye Mr. Germ,” a film on
tuberculosis, and "Behind a Smile,” on dental care,
were shown on February 29 to all students. They
were shown first in Brewer hall, then Winona and
last McNary, by Dr. Stone and Mrs. Seawright.
Dr. Stone gave an interesting talk to the boys
following the showing of the films. It is planned to
do this once each month.
The Mobile Chest Unit is scheduled to visit the
campus in April. All students and employees should
take advantage of this and be x-rayed at that time.
Diptheria toxoid is being given to all the students
who had a positive reaction to the shick test.
Milk and vitamin pills are being served to grades
1, 2 and 3. A gain in weight is already noticed in
the beginners. Tooth brush drill is conducted daily
by Miss Ohman of grade one. Good dental hygiene
begun in thé first grade may hold over to adult life.
