H ome E conomics : The machines have been
busily going in the classrooms of Mrs. Sanders
as the girls of the IOC group have been sewing
small teatowels and making little dresses for the
smaller girls. The classes of the 9C group are
mending material for the smaller boys and have
been sewing small tea towels.
The girls of the food classes of Mrs. Johnson
are studying cereals. They will plan breakfast
consisting of cereals. The Everyday Living class
es will analyze the daily health habits.
The dressing of chickens for cold saorage, and
the preparation of bread has taken up most of
the senior’s time in Miss White’s class. They also
prepared the refreshments for the senior reception.
The junior class has been studying the clas
sification of food and of menu making in prep-
ration for moving into the junior Practice House
in the near future.
“Clickety Click” the needles arebusily working
as the girls practice knitting in Mrs. Peppers’
classes. The class will help in knitting for Red
Cross work.
Mrs. Cronk, who has been in full charge of
the cannery, will resume her classes this week.
The girls of Mrs. Sanders knitting class are
knitting junior sets consisting of sweaters, caps
mittens and other articles for small children.
Sorting and cleaning of beans and the canning
of them have kept Mrs. James class busy at the
cannery.
T ailor S hop : Under the supervision of Mr.
James, Clarence LaRoque, Elnathan Davis, and
Wilfred Buber have made four bus driver’s uni
forms for different agencies.
The band suits will be started next week. Be
sides all these, the boys have made up three suits.
C arpentry : The general work of carpentry is
to finish any little detail tnat needs repairing.
There is work being done for Mrs. Pepper,
These are four big drawing boards which are
being done by Robert Davis.
Miss Clark will receive a bookshelf which was
made by John Plouffe and Harold Dilts.
Miss Cruise will also receive a bookshelf which
was made by Paul LaRoque and Rosewell
Eddenshaw.
Mr. Larsen’s garage is being worked on by
Walter Champine, Orville Perry, and Ray Brady.
The shingling of the onion house roof was done
by both divisions.
The senior carnival booths were made by all
the senior carpenter boys.
B akery : The bakers for this school term are
mornings: Harold Joseph, George Rice, and Louis
Youngman, afternoons are Sanford Beaudry and
Billy Jackson.
Harold and George have been making the past
ries on the morning shift while Louis has been
mixing the dough. Sanford and Billy usually do
the finishing touches. They are doing fine work
and are improving every day.
A uto S hop : Henry Cross, the student shop
foreman, and his helpers have given Mr Hudson’s
Chevrolet a complete going over.
Frank Gochanour has removed the trans
mission from the Chevrolet panel, dismounted,
repaired, and assembled it again. He has done
a nice job.
Last week the group had a written test on
specific lubrication. Our next written test is on
valve action on four and six cylinder motors.

In this home room the Students have been
busily writing articles. The articles written con
cern the academic work, vocations football games,
daily routine, and in general any thing pertaining
to the school. Each student is assigned an article
to write on. These articles are to be handed in to
the reservation paper published monthly.
The other activities planned are making indi
vidual maps of the reservation. As soon as these
maps are completed they will all work on larger
maps of the reservation. Also they will finish
their workbooks which will keep them busily
engaged for awhile.

You may be certain that the girls to be escorted
were down in the reception room in Winona hall
right on the dot on the evening of Oct. 18, when
Tom Serene and his orchestra were at the gym
to play for the first escort dance of the year.
