The Y. W. C. A. had a very interesting Armistice
program. Mrs. Mohr, who is one of the war mothers,
gave a talk about Armistice. She also showed some
pictures which were very interesting. A duet was given
by Velma Hayward and Wilma Mesplie, also a piano
solo by Wilma Mesplie.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The Advisory Committee and Student Council held
a meeting Tuesday evening, November 13. Many im
portant problems of the school were discussed and
settled to the satisfaction of both committees.
MUSIC CLUB
The boys music club held a meeting Sunday, No
vember 18th. The purpose of this meeting was to try
out new members who were not able to attend the last
meeting because of the basketball turn-out.
Following the try-outs a short program was given
and the club was adjourned.
LO-HE-HA CLUB
Love, health, happiness! What more could anyone
ask?
If there are any doubts—this is the newly organized
girl’s club.
The second meeting was held Monday night at the
reception room of the club house, which was adopted
as a permanent meeting place for the Lo-He-Ha girls.
Three new members were added to the list. The
Misses Hoffman, Cruise and Wentzel.
The girls had a successful basketball turn-out Sun
day night after chapel. Some new tricks were un
earthed, such as catching the ball with your face and
bouncing it on your nose before catching it.
GIRLS’ MUSIC CLUB
Thursday, November 22nd will be the next regular
meeting date for the Girls’ Music Club and it is hoped
that nothing will interfere with this date and there
will be full attendance.
Owing to an unexpected
meeting that conflicted with our own date our meeting
was omitted.
It is possible for those really interested in music to
advance themselves more than they realize. For in
stance; two former members of our club Lena Louie
and Merceline Seltice, who are now attending the
University of Idaho at Moscow are reported to be
members of the University singing organization. And
this isn’t all, for returning to our home-ground we
find Mary lyall singing in an organization of Salem
high. This should awaken some serious thought on
the part of all our members and encourage them to
make the best of present day opportunities to step out
side the works of our club. Attention might aptly
be called to the fact that two of Chemawa’s young
men who are also prominent in the singing organiza
tion at Salem high, namely Janies Rosario and Francis
Thomas.

The very best of time was had by all at the “News
Paper” party given at the gym on the night of Nov.
16. Miss Mohr sponsored the party and the novelty
of the party was so enjoyable that it was rather diffi
cult to persuade the members that it was time to go
home. There was quite a number of employees, who
are honorary members, at the party.
Refreshments
were served while Ed Case and his Wranglers sang
sweet melodies. We hope to have more of these par
ties in the future.
The Y.M. held its regular meeting on November
18, and elected Wallace Zundle as athletic manager.
It was decided for the future meeting that all members
representing different tribes, tell of their tribal history,
customs, arts etc. This will no doubt prove very in
teresting.
TRADES
The junior and senior nurses held their second meet
ing November 2, at 6:30 p.m. We discussed some im
portant subjects that will be of help to us in the future.
We have decided to organize a basket-ball team too.

The senior planning class served a three course
dinner last week, November 8. They invited two
guests apiece, an employee and a student friend. Each
of the girls had for this project the planning prepara
tions and serving of her meal.
It wasn’t to exceed
twenty cents.
Tuesday, November 13, Rose Belcourt and Josephine
Small prepared and served a birthday dinner for Mr.
Caisse in honor of his wife. The girls got a great deal
of fun from having the responsibility of doing it all
alone. Mrs. Caisse was very pleasantly surprised over
the dinner her husband had planned for her.
The junior class have also been having fine projects
of serving simple luncheons. This week will finish
this quarter and for the next quarter they will be in
the sewing department.
The cooking class now feel that they have a first -
class dining room since the floors have been so nicely
varnished by the boys. The sewing department has
also made some very nice blocked print curtains.
Other departments in various parts of the building
have been improved too.
