i “ After a thorough inspection of the institution in
*11 its appointments and activities we are pleased to
report to you our commendation of the management
pf the school and of the work being accomplished.
¿. “ There is no evidence of neglect or improper treat’
tnent.of the Indian boys and girls. On the contrary,
they show every evidence of being well fed, well
clothed and are happy and contented. At present
there, are 538 inmates, only seven cases of sickness, and
they-have the best of care and attention. Cafeful in
spection of kitchen, dining room, sleeping rooms,

pess.and sanitation in every detail.
W,e talked privately with the children, with the
teachers, with heads of the departments. We visited
and talked with the people of the town, ministers,
business men, and private citizens, without bearing
one word of criticism or complaint.
K “ We do not hesitate to declare the charges of mis
treatment and neglect of inmates as false and Un
founded in every respect, according to the best of out
knowledge and belief.
“ We believe Superintendent Davis to be a man of
superior qualification for the position and that the
work of Mr. Davis and his staff of assistants entitle
them fo special cotpmendation on, the part of the in
terior department of the federal government.”
The request should state the number of persons for
whom the vaccine is desired and will be filled in the
order of receipt. Each lot of vaccine sent out will be
accompanied by full directions for administration arid

allowed to freeze. It is given hypodermically.
The vaccine is of no value in treatment and should
be given ten days before exposure. It will protect for

should be revaccinated annually. Each year’s vacci
nation increases the immunity. Since this vaccine is
provided free, it is expected that no charge shall be
made fpr maUrial. The vyyyiny is distributed by the
United States Public Health Service to physicians only.
MY VIEW OF A N EDUCATION

Education is the greatest and best thing one can
have. If brings health, wealth and happipyss. No one
should mifia getting it.
It gives a person success ip both a business and a
social career. An educated person who can ge| all the
Joys of life through an education is happier than a fi
nancially successful, ignorant person. It also gives
independence, the thing which everyone wants.
It furnislies opportunities and çhançes for desirable
work and higher salaries, to say nothing of being better
situated socially.
Independence and respectably social standing are two
things we all want.
