DOMESTIC ART NOTES
Morn’un Folks!
Say! you know what! Liss’un and we’ll tell you
somthin, Xmas is one week off.
Bet’cha can’t guess what we did here last week; just
come up and take a look. Bet you’d think you were
at the end of the rainbow, but you wouldn’t find your
pot of gold for you’d be just gazing at the beautiful
tiedying we’ve done.
Oh Min! You couldn’t have had more fun than
we had last week.
We felt like children playing with mud pies. Oh,
say, we were just dying and dying. But we’re not
dead yet. We were just simply tie dying, and in the
height of our glory we were visited by two Salem
high school girls who had come to spend the after
noon tie dying with us.
For the past week the Senior girls left their gray
dresses behind to finish up the fancy work for the
Christmas sale. Did we say left behind? Well, that was
a mistake, we worked on them out side of the sewing
room so they weren’t left behind entirely.
Well, we’d better conclude. We’ll tell you the rest

DOMESTIC SCIENCE NOTES
Ray! Ray! Juniors again—
You no doubt will be interested in what we are doing
under the supervision of Miss Strout. Part of our time
is spent in baking, and part of it in meal planning.
We are having some very appetizing meals served by
amateur cooks, for example: Anoinette Moss and
Agatha Crouch.
As Christmas is fast approaching fruit cakes will be
under construction this week at the Domestic Science
kitchens.
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, we are do
ing some Red Cross work in the form of little booklets
containing inexpensive and well balanced menus.
The sixth grade have planned and served their
second meal—with quite an improvement in both
cooking and serving. They enjoyed a short talk on
table manners last week.

SENIOR NOTES
Six senior boys are trying out for the basketball
team. We hope they all makegood.
Why is it that the Seniors wear a smile today? Oh
yes! It’s because every one got a highgrade in the
botany test. The senior boys are just beginning to
understand real botany since Mrs. Palmer has been
their teacher.
Every evening at the library some of the senior boys
are seen looking up material for a thousand word
theme on what the 68th congress is doing at present.
If you don’t know what occurs in Washington, D. C.,
consult any Senior.
The other day the Seniors answered to roll call by
giving health quotations. Some of the good ones were,
“When washing remember you are the only one who
can’t see the back of your neck.” “A regular hour
for every meal and not a regular meal for every hour.”
“When you’re hungry between meals, eat a glass of
water.”
JUNIOR NOTES
Moses George is out of the hospital.
We are proud to report that Pedro Rassmussen,
junior, even when seriously ill in the hospital, wore
his class cap. How is that for junior class spirit?
The junior class has a new attraction, William Mar-
kishtum, our class artist, made a new bulletin board.
It received many compliments from the teachers.
The boys in the machine shop are making rapid
progress under their new instructor, Mr. Bewley.
George Flack, one of our prominent juniors, is mak
ing a pump shaft and is doing it well.
The new domestic science quarters are about finished.
The carpenters have have done their work well, es
pecially “Sheik” Nevers and “Jake” of the junior
class. Charles George and Joseph Connor, junior
painters, have also done their part. Charles says it
couldn’t have been done any better.
Robert Fielder, Charles George and Joseph Dumore
are trying out for the varsity basketball team. If
they succeed they will cripple our class team a little,
but we don’t care; as we have more good ones, for
instance, “Jake,” Rassmussen, Moses and Donald
Roberts. Donald is the smallest one in our class, but
OH, MY!
Three junior boys are trying out for wrestling; they
are William Johnson, Donald Nickerson and Tom
Anayah. If they make good we expect to see some
good wrestling bouts during Christmas week. Joseph.
Connor, the Juniors’ “Jack Dempsey,” is all trimmed
up for a bout with any senior. Lookout for “Demp
sey,” seniors.
