T he reg u lar m eeting of the N onpareil L ite ra ry S o­
ciety opened F rid a y evening w ith P resident L oftus in
th e chair. Old and new business for the evening was
transacted after w hich the follow ing program was
rendered: Song by th e m em bers; opening address,
P resident L oftus; vocal solo, Ida Brown; recitation,
L ydia Davis; d u et, L illian D esm ond and E liza B ernard;
local jokes, E rm a L aC lair; q u a rte tte by four m em bers;

D o rris M ann. A fter the program the critic gave a r e ­
port and o u r official visitor, M r. Jam es, gave th e so­
