E dw ard D upuis, a form er stu d e n t, paid the school
a sh o rt visit last week. H e is now m arried and living
in O regon C ity. H e rep o rts th at he is g ettin g along
nicely.

Of late d etails of boys have been b lasting stum ps
out and clearin g u p th e land east of the hospital.
W h en cleared th is land will be a valuable addition to
o u r cu ltiv ated area, as th e soil is very fine.
T h is is th e season of th e year w hen m uch p ru n in g
of orchards is in progress. T h is is w ork w herein c o n
siderable care should be exercised, as bad p ru n in g
will do m ore dam age th a n good. T hose who p ru n e
should know w hat th ey are d o in g .
F o r the past week or so A lbert Spearson and G eorge
T h o m as have been busy a t rep air w ork in M itchell
H all. T h ey are good h u stlers and good w orkm en in
the line of carp en try and the repairs and im provem ents
they have m ade is g reatly appreciated by all the boys
of th a t building.
L ittle R euben S anders has had a serious tim e of it
of late. H e is ju st now recovering from q u ite a d el
icate surgical operation w hich took place at a Salem
H o sp ital. T h is little fellow has been u n fo rtu n a te and
has been com pelled to subm it to several operations in
his few years of life, but it is now th o u g h t and hoped
th a t he is on the way to a speedy recovery and perfect
h ealth .
THE HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMAN
L ast T h u rsd ay evening w as th e tim e set for th e
open session of th e R eliance L iterary Society and they
chose to en tertain th e ir guests w ith th e presentation
of “ T h e H ig h School F re sh m a n .” T h e boys really
did splendidly from begin n in g to end and m erited the

DOMESTIC SCIENCE NOTES
T h e cooks for the past week w ere L ena C leveland

day and cooked a very nice breakfast for th e O. A . C.
freshm en team .
T h e freshm en and sophom ore g ills have had th eir
dom estic science ex am in atio n s for th is sem ester. O f
th e first year vocational class th e follow ing received
th e highest m arks: H attie Cay to n , M aude P o tts and
S tella G rim es.
On T uesday last the Sophom ores cooked and served
a delicious dinner to the F resh m en team of O .A .C . It
w as reported that the d in n e r was a success. Jessie
C leveland and L illian G au th ier did the serving and
were h ighly com plim ented.
