A Salem visitor at “ M r. B ob’’ ex p ressed m uch
pleasure in the play and p articu larly enjoyed the class
songs.
Some of th e ladies on the cam pus are try in g to e n ­
gage “ J e n k in s’’ as bu tler for th eir n ex t “ classy ” so­
cial function.
T h e seniors find it hard to beat C larence E d u a rd s
in period averages. H e leads his class, followed by
E lizabeth Beall and Opal P earson.
H eard on the cam pus: “ T h ere was less d istu rb an ce
g ettin g up the senior play th a n about any e n te rta in ­
m ent I ’ve ever seen at C h em aw a.”
T heresa G ua received the h ig h est grade in her d o ­
m estic a rt class. Mabel B lodgett. K a th e rin e L oftus
and Clara M orais m issed it by one point.
T h e class o f ’21 presented “ Mr. B ob” D ecem ber 17.

OUR CH APEL SERVICE
D uring chapel exercises on S u n d ay ev ening the
o rch estra played ‘ La C in q u a n ta in e ” by L ack , th e
O ctette G irls sang “ Cast T hy Bread on the W a te rs ,”
C ruz M cDaniels gave as a b arito n e solo “ W hen Y ou
are M in e” by Lee, th e Choir san g th e “ W onderful
S tory of L o v e” by D river. M r. Paul C orbett, w ho
was here from K am iah , Id ah o , was on the platform
w ith S u p t. H all an d was in v ited to address those
assem bled. H e m ade a good talk to th e stu d en ts, e n ­
co u rag in g them to tak e advantage of their o p p o rtu n i­
ties here in every way possible. H e had only words
of praise for our g reat school and its m anagem ent,
th u s paying a deserved com plim ent to S upt. H all.
BASK ETBALL
A com plete schedule will be published soon.
T h e first gam e on ou r schedule will be played about
Ja n u ary seventh.
A s usual the g irls will be given a chance to show
th eir wares. A rrangem ents are being made to play
th e ir first gam e here shortly after th e holidays. T h e
prospects for a w in n in g team are u n u su ally bright
A larg er num ber of girls turned out for practice this
season th a n in any tw o years previous, and they all
have the knack of playing, loo.
LOCAL
T h e W inonas adjourned to attend th e senior play.
I t is said some carried th eir spelling books w ith them
— th e inter-society contest is alm ost here.
M rs. H all gave a reception to the Sigm a girls the
o th er ev en in g in honor of the new m em bers as well as
v isitin g m em bers. M r. Paul Corbett was also presen t.
S u p t. and M rs. H all m otored to P ortlan d on M on­
day to attend m a tte rs of business in connection w ith
o u r C hristm as, as well as inspecting supplies for the
In d ian Service.
O rd er of D ivine Service on C hristm as Day for all
C atholic children: F irst mass and com m union at
five o ’clock w ith e x tra m usic. Second m ass at eight
o 'clo ck. T en o ’clock mass and benediction.
“ Mr. B o b ,” the play given last T h u rsd ay evening
by th e Senior class, was under the direction of Mrs.
R isser and was splen d id ly acted in its every d etail—
a cred it to all. Lack of space prevents extended
m ention, but let it suffice to say th e patronage was
good and th e Seniors are ahead $83.
T h e first big, pre-C hristm as pop corn party was
held M onday evening in the s tu d e n ts’ kitchen by sev­
eral m em bers of th e faculty. It w as a real enjoyable
evening and several large baskets of corn were popped
and sent to the dom estic science dep artm en t w here it
will be m ade into nice big balls for stu d e n ts.

held th e ir C h ristm as p ro g ram , w ith th e p re sid en t, M audie
C raig, p re sid in g . T h e pro g ram consisted of songs an d re c ita ­
tio n s bv th e m em b ers a n d th e te llin g of V an D y k e ’s story,
“ T h e O th er W ise M a n .’’ A n u m b er of th e m em b ers of th is
c h a p te r have ju s t received beautiful little b o o k m ark s for th e ir
new Bibles, as a rew ard for le a rn in g th e n am es of all th e books
of th e Bible.
T h e Y. W . C. A. had an e x ce lle n t C h ristm as p ro g ram on
S u n d ay a ftern o o n . T h e m e etin g was led by A nnie M iller, an d
