T h e blacksm iths are ta k in g o u t th e wood floor in
the so u th end of th e ir shop p rep arato ry to p u ttin g in
a cem ent floor. T h is will add greatly to th e u tility
and appearance of th is section of th e shop.
T h e electrical forces of th e en g in eerin g d ep artm en t
have recently put up some m uch needed lig h ts on th e
cam pus. No. 5 boiler has been out of service for th e
past few days, g e ttin g a bath and a rest. I t will be
going again in the near fu tu re.
T h e carpenters have been busy th e past few days
m ak in g th e doors for th e new’ m achine shop. It is a
pleasure to know th a t our carp en ters can do work of
th is k in d . I t is excellent practice and gives actual
w’ork on w hich they have recen tly been stu d y in g .
T h e plum bers have th e ir troubles, too. T h ree sew
ers w’ere clogged in th e sam e day recen tly , but th e
fact did not appear to d istu rb them as they w ent at
th e jo b w’ith business-like precision and soon had
ev ery th in g g o in g ag ain . T h ey say

M r. B ettles says he will soon have a herd of hogs
to sell.
T h e dairy boys are h au lin g in corn for feed and e x
pect to have several h u n d re d b u sh els for both hogs
and cattle.
T h e new m achine shop will soon be ready for th e
floor and shingles. T h e sh in g les have been ord ered
for some tim e, b u t as yet have not arrived.

M rs. S herm an, D r. R ow land and M iss N ellie, M r. and
M rs. Iliff and Miss A h ren s. Opal P earson, w ith th e
assistance of B eulah W h ite, did the serving.
