M r, Sm ith is again hard at w ork, d rillin g the boys
in the gym . H e is w orking on new gam es and folk

T h e N onpareil Society held a m eeting last W ed n es
day evening as usual. In stead of hav in g a program ,
new officers w ere elected. W e w ere glad to have as
visitors M rs. Loos and M r. Brow n.
T h e pupils at Chem aw a have enjoyed a long feast
of apples. It is about th e longest in the history of
C hem aw a. M r. W estley says th a t they will last about
a week longer. T w enty bushels a day for six m onths
rep resen ts a big crop of apples for an In d ian school.
T h e E xcelsiors had charge of th e M onday m orn in g
chapel exercises, Ja n u ary 8 th . T h e follow ing p ro

in front of the em ployees’ cottages as well as the one
leading to the barns.

T h e shoe and harness dep artm en t welcomes Roy
F razier as a vocational stu d e n t in th a t shop. Roy has
ju st retu rn ed to Chem aw a.
Robert A lphus deserves m uch praise for the b e a u ti
ful p en n a n t w hich he made for th e eig h th g rad e.
Sixteen sets of harness have been com pleted and five
m ore are nearin g com pletion. T hese are to be sent to
different points in A rizona.
L ast W ednesday evening the R eliance Society had
a fine program . T h ere were a num b er of new m em
bers and we expect to get more in th e fu tu re.
T h e prevocatio ml carp en ter bovs have been re p a ir
ing the gates around the hospital as well as m aking va
rious repairs at the dairy barn.
J
