Opal and V aloy Pearson, and E va, Beulah and
R uby \ \ bite, attended a fam ily d in n er in Salem on
T h an k sg iv in g . M rs. Pearson bro u g h t the children
hom e and attended th e social th a t evening.

W e have two p u p d s in ou r division who made 90
percent as th e ir average for the m onth. T here are
tw o in th e other section I h ear, so th a t m akes four
H onor Roll pupils for the 6th grade this m o n th .”

of 12 to 0.

Miss Sarah Brewer has ju st received her p erm anent
appointm ent as clerk at the Salem In d ian School.
Mr and Mrs. W arn er and Jan e left for their home
in H erm iston last F rid ay . C hem aw a will miss them
g reatly .
M rs. W eniger, a teacher in th e G ran t Ju n io r H igh
School in Salem , and d au g h ter E sth e r, had tea w ith
Mr. an d Mrs. Sm ith on T h an k g iv in g and later a t
ten d ed the social in th e gym nasium .
S u p erin ten d en t and Mrs. H ill and Mrs. Ja q u in s
took T h an k sg iv in g d in n e r at the T each ers' Club.
Inasm uch as ou r football practice com m enced late in
th e season it was difficult to round out a team to
go up against the quality of football played by the
college team s of the N orthw est in so short a tim e and
w hile we have held our own in m ost of th e gam es,
not until I hanksgiving did th e team round out in
form sufficiently to show the q u ality of football they
were capable of playing. At V ancouver they proved
th eir m ettle by defeatin g a team m uch m ore e x p e ri
enced and heavier, and the stro n g est team o u r bovs
have gone up ag ain st.
T h e second team played against the Dallas team
and lost by a score of 12 to 7. C hem aw a has a stro n g
second team and should have won this gam e, but luck
seem ed ag ain st them , as they were penalized at c riti
cal periods, w hich lost the gam e.
