THE CHEM AW A
AM ERICAN
Mrs. Sadie Fulkerson and son of Hoquiam, Wash., were guests of
Mrs. C. D. Fulkerson of Chemawa for a few days recently.
On the evening of May 11th Mrs. Loos gave a party in honor of those
who so kindly attended her during her recent severe illness. It was a
most enjoyable occasion for all in attendance.
A few evenings ago Judge Galloway of Salem addressed the student
body assembled in the Auditorium. He took “ citizenship” for his theme
and handled his subject in a masterly manner. All were pleased and
honored to have him visit us and deliver an address.
We are in receipt of a card and an announcement of the graduation
of Miss Ruth Brewer from the Salem High School. We are certainly
pleased to report her coming graduation for she has been a good and
hard-working student and her success has been well-earned.
We regret very much our inability, for lack of time and space, to
publish in full an Excelsior Society report as handed to us. The re
port covered a public entertainment recently given by members of the
Society and an announcement cf officers just elected. The entertain
ment was meritorious in every way and the officers will no doubt prove
able and worthy.
