be: The Captain of the football team, the Captain of the baseball team,
the Captain of the basketball team, the Captain of the track team, and
the Head Matron. To these members there shall be assigned such
duties as the council may decide.
Section 9. The Head Matron shall have charge of the Girls, Basket
ball team. If she so wishes, she may have the assistance of the Manager
and Coach.
Section 10. All these officers, with the exception of the Coach, shall
be elected prior to the first Saturday in May, and they shall serve for
one year, or until their successors are chosen. Each newly elected
Council shall assume its duties on the first day of September.
Section 11. No officer of this Association may relinquish his office,
unless he has previously presented his resignation in writing to the
Council, stating his reasons for so doing, and unless the Council has
given its consent to his withdrawal. An officer resigning without the
consent of the Council shall be required to pay into the treasury of the
Association a fine to be assessed by the Council; he shall forfeit his
rights and privileges as a member of the Association, and he shall be
barred from becoming a member of any of the athletic teams. An of
ficer may be deprived of his office for cause by a majority vote of the
Athletic Council.
Section 12. A vacancy caused in the Council, either through resig
nation or by removal, shall be filled by the Council by a majority vote
of its members.
ARTICLE III—MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. This Association shall be composed of Active Members
and of Associate Members.
Section 2. Every student and employee of the Chemawa Indian
Training School, as well as its graduates, regardless of sex, shall become
an Active Member of the Association, upon the purchase of a Season
Ticket. An Active Member shall participate in the election of the
Athletic Council, he shall be eligible to hold an office in said Council
and he shall be admitted, free of charge, to all athletic contests that
take place on the Chemawa grounds.
Section 3. Every student, employee, or graduate of the Chemawa
Indian Training School, regardless of sex, may become an Associate
Member of the Association, by paying an initiation fee of twenty-five
cents. The Associate Members shall not have the same privileges as
the Active Members.
Section 4. Every member of the Association shall be required to
wear the Association pin or button, which will be furnished to him free
of charge by the Athletic Council, upon the payment of the proper
