CONSTITUTION
OF THE
ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
ARTICLE I—NAME AND OBJECT
Section 1. The name of this organization shall be “ The Athletic
Association of the Chemawa Indian Training School.”
Section 2. Its objects shall be: The stimulation of athletic sports
among the students of the school; the promotion of athletic relations
with other collegiate institutions and organizations; and the arrange
ment and supervision of athletic contests between this school and other
institutions.
ARTICLE II—OFFICERS AND THEIR DUTIES
Section 1. The Association shall be governed by an Athletic Council
consisting of a President, a Vice-president, a Secretary, a Treasurer, a
Manager, a Coach, and five additional members.
Section 2. The President shall represent the Association; he shall
call all meetings, preside over them, and he shall exercise all other
prerogatives that pertain to this office. Only the Superintendent of
the Chemawa Indian School shall fill this office.
Section 3. The Vice-president shall exercise the duties of the Presi
dent during the latter s absence or disability. His signature shall
be necessary to the disbursing of moneys belonging to the Associa
tion.
Section 4. The Secretary shall keep all records of the Association
and shall conduct all its correspondence. He shall issue all calls for
meetings of the Association and Council. His signature shall be
necessary prior to the disbursing of the Association’s funds.
Section 5. The Treasurer shall keep and be responsible for all
moneys belonging to the Association. He shall be required to make,
