THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN 17 fulfilled that the old world would be made over, all the wrongs made right. And then I wonder what becomes of these youths and maidens, so strong and fair. I cannot find them in the men and women that I know. Ah, that is the pity of it! That is what life does. That is the one great tragedy. But that is not the note I want to strike. This is your day and you are young. Enjoy your youth, revel in it. Drink to the full of all its wholesome joys. Make the most of its glorious opportunities. But spend your youth wisely; don't dissipate it. Your youth is your pre cious heritage. It is your capital. Don't, don't waste it. Fillittothe brim with every worthy activity---work, play, love. Fill it to the brim, I say, until your youth overflows and makes the old world brighter and happier and better because of it. Young people I want to congratulate you von the occasion. In the name of the University of Oregon -your older brother in the name of the citizens of the commonwealth and of this country, I congratulate you and wish you good fortune and much happiness.
