Mr. Smith has added greatly to the appearance of the walk leading
from the.main entrance to Brewer Hall by placing inverted half barrels
filled with flowering plants at regular intervals along it. Mr. and Mrs
Loos have likewise added attractive features to the lawn in front of
Mitchell Hall. Work of this nature is highly commendable.
The last two employes, meetings were most successful in every way.
The business sessions of each were presided over by Supt. Wadsworth.
The entertainment committee for April was composed of Miss Brewer,
Miss Mitchell, and Mr. Swoboda, while a committee consisting of Miss
Peters Mr. Sanders. Mr. Hauser and Mr. Steuber had charge of affairs
for May. On both occasions the committees acquitted themselves most
creditably. The May meeting was the last for tins school year.
On the afternoon of May 7th the Boy Scouts, under the leadership of
Assistant Commander Reuben Sanders, took allot trail which led them in
a northwesterly direction to the Clear Lake country. At a late hour camp
was made and sentries posted for the night and the righteous and cour
ageous voutlis slept soundly with one eye open until the early birds began
doling: An earlv fish was the order of the “ morning
er,” but few
fish were taken. The entire Scout body arrived home safely in the mid-
ble of the forenoon following the day of departure. 1 he most inter
esting wild thing they viewed was a China rooster, but we were unable
Z 'ascertain if it was vicious, as reports differed. But the boys had a
fine time anyway, and that is what really counts.
