Student Body and Alumni
After the program there was a short business session held by the as
sociation. In the afternoon there was a ball game, Alumni vs. Che-
mawa. It was an exciting affair. Score 6—12 in favor of the under
graduates.
In the evening at 7:30 o’clock all members and invited guests wend
ed their way toward the Gym where Prof. Stoudenmeyer’s Orchestra
of Salem was in readiness and waiting for us. We realized that at a
later hour, in the school Dining Hall, under the supervision of our ef
ficient cook, one of our earliest graduates, Mrs. Brewer, an inviting
and elaborately prepared menu awaited us. Therefore in order to
meet the cravings of our inner physical being, it was necessary that we
also prepare ourselves for the climax of the evening—the banquet.
So fascinating and inviting were the strains of the orchestra that all
present, whether fat, slim, short, tall, young or old, felt themselves
for the time being, Chemawa students, and danced merrily together
as they had years ago under the supervision of the faculty.
At the hour of twelve the toast-master called on different members
who responded heartily to the call.
