H e had ju st reached the philoso­
phical stage w hen he slipped into a
re sta u ra n t for a bit to eat. T hen he

It is adm itted he did some w ait­
ing, too. W hat happened to his o r­
der could not be understood outside

A t last it came. As the w ait­
ress p u t the order before him , he
started from his deep stu d y , as if
he had forgotten he had an order
com ing. T hen, looking up at the
fair tran sp o rter of edibles, he said:
“ You d o n ’t look a day o ld e r!”
