and, best of all, Chem awa will tu rn out better and
nobler y o u n g men to com pete w ith th e g rad u ates of other schools.
These young men will be the better men of the school. T hey are the true
spirit and pride of Chem aw a.
Better because they have trained care
fully for a place o u tlie team , and have learned th e art of self-denial and
self-control on the field.
T hese are the neccessary essentials th a t are
required to m ake a pure and noble m an.
T h e m arked success of th e last two years is due largely to th e athletic
association of stu d e n ts, and m any ot th e em ployes, by subscribing for
season tick ets for m em bership in the association. „T h is has enlarged
th e fund so th a t the m anagem ent can purchase a better line of eq u ip
m ent for the team s, w hich is more of an inducem ent to those th at have
rem ained on the side-lines to come out and try for a place on the team .
It has been said by th e old stu d en ts and graduates, that th is is the
first tim e in th e ath letic life of the school, th at sw eaters and Cs were
presented to the men w in n in g first honors on the team . T h e w riter
suggests th a t it should be th e duty of all stu d en ts and em ployes to hold
season tick ets to fu rth e r th e cause of athletics at Chem aw a. Ju st as
