I try my best to do ev ery th in g th at they
W e decorated our school room before C hristm as, and we cut C h rist­
m as bells and pictures and h u n g them on the wall, and we had a good
tim e.
At the C hristm as tree I got a doll, a set of dishes, and some h an d k e r­
chiefs, and tw o yards of ribbon. I saw old Santa Claus come down
the chim ney at the gym nasium .
I got a big doll for C hristm as, and ribbons, a tea set. and a ju m p in g
jack . W e d id n ’t have school for two weeks, and I am glad I am back
to school to learn my lessons.
T hey had a jolly tim e New Y ear's n ig h t. T he boys were playing the
banjo and fiddle and rin g in g bells at the schoolhouse.
I had lots of fun on C hristm as Day. W e had a dance on C hristm as
n ig h t. W e had a good d in n er on C hristm as.
I am in the th ird grade
now.
